Thread the Love: Our First Community Campaign Launches with Habitat for Humanity

At Mountain City Apparel, we believe in more than just making cool apparel— we believe in making a difference. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our very first Thread the Love campaign, kicking off this February (2026) and benefitting an incredible local partner: Habitat for Humanity of Fannin & Gilmer Counties.

Turning T-Shirts into Tools for Change

Thread the Love is a community-focused initiative that transforms everyday apparel into powerful fundraising tools for nonprofits, grassroots organizations, and local causes across North Georgia. Each campaign features a limited-edition, co-branded t-shirt designed to spark conversations, raise awareness, and — most importantly — give back.

For our first campaign, we’ve teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Fannin & Gilmer Counties, a local nonprofit that has spent over 20 years building safe, affordable housing for families in our rural mountain communities.

The goal? Sell 100 t-shirts and raise $1,000 — all while giving supporters a way to literally wear their heart on their tee.

Why Habitat for Humanity?

Habitat for Humanity has long been a cornerstone of positive change in the Blue Ridge area. Their mission is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a decent, durable place to call home — and they’ve been living that mission since 2002.

“Habitat for Humanity has been a cornerstone of community impact in our area, and it felt like a natural fit to launch Thread the Love’s first campaign with an organization that literally helps build the foundation for local families,” said J. Ashley Panter, Co-Founder and Owner of Mountain City Apparel. “This partnership is the perfect way to launch an initiative that’s all about giving back and celebrating what makes the Blue Ridge and North Georgia community so special.”

More Than Just a Shirt

This isn’t your average t-shirt drop. This limited-edition design is a true collaboration between Mountain City Apparel and Habitat for Humanity, blending local creativity with community spirit. It’s a shirt that tells a story — one of hope, action, and Appalachian pride.

Your purchase doesn’t just support affordable housing in Fannin and Gilmer counties — it helps amplify the voices of local nonprofits and inspires others to step up and support the causes that make our mountain home so special.

We’re excited to roll out more partnerships like this in the coming months — all part of our ongoing mission to use design and storytelling to support the people, places, and nonprofits that define the soul of North Georgia.
